Disney Sneak Peak

I took over 400 pictures at Disney World this week, so I am still sorting through them, but here are a few for grandparents and aunts!

Chicago!!

Oh my goodness! We just had the best weekend hanging out with the Maxeys! They moved to the Chicago area this summer and we managed to make it up there to visit this weekend. Our main goal: hang out and enjoy each other's company. Mission accomplished!

First stop after some yummy Chicago style hot dogs: Apple Orchard. This was a fall-lovin girl's dream! The weather was perfect, the kids were happy, and the apples were aplenty! We picked over 20lbs of Gala apples!

Will pretty much ate apples the whole time! Such a sweetie!

And what do you do with 20lbs of apples (besides eat them constantly the entire weekend)? You make the cover page dessert from Southern Living! Yum!

The guys made it to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field on Sunday after we walked to an adorable cafe for breakfast, so Karson and I hung out and let the kids play with every single toy they own. They were in heaven! Both nights we put the kids to bed on a giant pallet in their room...all four in a row. Unfortunately, Grace was ejected both nights for unruly behavior!

Monday we hopped the train for a little ride to another city for lunch and an adventure. Good times.

First Day of Preschool 2011

Ok, I have lots to catch up on from this summer, but I don't want to get even more behind with current events, so I'll just have to do the best I can to update both along the way here!

Today was our first day of preschool. It was greatness! The girls both love their classes and I love being there too! Today was Annalee's last first day at our preschool and then next year it's of to Kindergarten...sniff, sniff!!

The token backpack picture before heading out the door. Micah was so sweet to leave for work late this morning so he could cook us a yummy pancake breakfast and help with the morning routine. It's hard getting back into the swing of things!

Pond Week

Ok, here's my best effort at trying to catch up on my blog. It's been a crazy summer!

One of the first week's of summer we did a pond study. My mom conveniently had tadpoles and frogs in her little pond and brought us some to explore!



We took the frog to a nearby park and had fun letting it go after observing it for a day or two. I had high hopes for the tadpoles, but unfortunately, they all died within a week. I need to perfect my tadpole raising skills for next summer!




We did plenty of froggie crafts and activities at home.







We made a yummy jello pond! Thanks to Target, we even had gummy frogs and fish!



At the end of the week we went to a local nature center and had a blast exploring all things pond related!

Grace just turned two!!

Although a real petting zoo would have been fun for her farm themed party, it just wasn't in the budget this year. However, we did have a great time at the park! I was terrible with picture taking, but here's what I managed to capture.

Catching Up

My laptop has recently crashed, so I've been behind on blog posts lately. Here's some of what we've been up to.

Our soccer season is almost over, this was a chilly morning...look closely, my child's arms are tucked into her jersey (#3). That's how the pros do it.



Caleb and Grace have the same birthday, so last weekend we celebrated him turning 5!

Happy Birthday Grace

Today is Grace's 2nd birthday. She celebrated by having her last day of school, eating dinner at a family fav, Mi Cocina, and splashing in the bath. As I was putting her to bed she had her head on my chest and sang about 10 verses of Happy Birthday, each with a different person's name in the song. We were both giggling...such a sweet memory that I will not soon forget. I love you Grace, Happy Birthday!
